Roasted Unagi mostly comes from Japan, Taiwan, China and recently Indonesia and Malaysia.

Prices of Japanese eel have skyrocketed to unrealistic levels even if you can find supply.

Our Roasted Eel comes from China. There are many factories producing Roasted Eel in China and Opus has gone through many before we found the current factory that produces the quality and consistency we want.

This Unagi is made from young eels mostly from 9 months to a year old so that their flesh and skin is soft and not tough or leathery. Only live eels are slain and used for roasting to prevent any fishy taste.

Unagi is available in sizes 30P, 40P, 50P and more. We also have Unagi Sushi Sliced.
